Revere's defining structural condition is salt air. Anything steel within a mile of the beach corrodes faster than the same detail inland, and buildings from the mid-century beachfront era show it.
We do a lot of repair and replacement work here, plus steel on the newer multifamily development along the boulevard and near Suffolk Downs.
Permitting and access
Revere requires stamped drawings and inspections for structural work. Coastal flood zone requirements affect foundations, column bases and any substantial improvement near the water, and balcony and egress stair work on occupied residential buildings brings life safety review into the schedule. Both are worth resolving before pricing rather than after.
Typical local scopes
- Balcony and exterior stair structural replacement
- Galvanized replacement of corroded columns, lintels and canopy steel
- Beam and column work in older single and multi-family housing
- New multifamily podium and stair steel
