Quincy is the largest city on the South Shore side of our radius and has been running a sustained downtown redevelopment program, which has produced a steady multifamily and mixed-use steel market.
Behind that, Quincy has a big stock of older single and multi-family housing and the remains of a shipyard-era industrial base.
Permitting and access
Quincy's building department requires stamped structural drawings for load path changes and inspects before close-in. Downtown sites have active traffic and transit coordination requirements for crane setups and deliveries, and coastal flood zone rules apply near the water. Quincy is also far enough from our Boston base that we schedule mobilizations in full days rather than partial ones.
Typical local scopes
- Podium and stair steel on downtown multifamily projects
- Residential beam and column replacement
- Load-bearing wall removal in single and two-family renovations
- Corrosion repair and equipment support in industrial buildings
